senior pastor
Kevin Cuthbertson
I grew up attending church pretty much every time the doors were open. At the time, however, it meant nothing to me. Church was just something that we did and, while I could tell you the gist of most bible stories, nothing in me was moved by them. All of this changed my senior year of high school when God began lowering my view of this world and its pursuits while simultaneously growing in me affections for His Word. For the first time, I would sit down to read the Bible and, not only loved what I was reading, but longed for it when I wasn't reading. Growing up, part of me never wanted to be too serious about the church because I never wanted to be called to the ministry or the mission field. I will never forget the day when I realized I would never be happy doing anything else.
After graduation, I attended the University of Mississippi. It was there that I met my wife, Laura, while working on staff together with Campus Crusade for Christ. In 2004, we moved to Louisville KY to both pursue our masters, mine in pastoral ministry and hers in biblical counseling. In 2007, we welcomed our first child, Molly Kate. Since that time, we have seen our quiver not only fill but explode with 6 more children (Mikias, Miles, Madden, Maggie, Mallory, and Maxton).
The Lord moved us to Atlanta in November of 2011 and I pastored there for 9 years. There was always a conversation in the Cuthbertson house about whether God would move us back to Mississippi one day. In the summer of 2020, while we had been praying about that possibility, Laura called me to tell me about a church in Columbus looking for a pastor. Over the next few months, through many hours of prayer and conversation, we saw that the Lord was leading us home. We arrived in Columbus in November of 2020 and, Lord willing, will be here for decades to come.
